The 73-metre-long MS Bakkanes, which primarily operates in Scotland, is in the dry dock in Skála and getting annuals service at MEST Shipyard. The vessel was was bought as a supply vessel by Faroese salmon farmer Bakkafrost in 2021 and refitted by MEST Shipyard in the Faroe Islands.

At the same time MEST is undertaking a major rebuilding project on Bakkafrost’s service vessel, “Martin”, which is being converted from service vessel to a live fish carrier.

At the quay side you also see the modern pelagic vessel Gøtunes, which is in for maintenance work.
